Target intelligence / Profile preview
Candida albicans antigens are components of the fungus that interact with the host immune system, triggering both protective and pathological responses. Key antigens include cell wall mannans/mannoproteins, Als family proteins, and Hyr1 protein. These antigens are recognized by innate immune cells (e.g., dendritic cells, NK cells) via PRRs and initiate adaptive immune responses involving T-cells and B-cells. Immunomodulation via these antigens can be exploited for vaccine development or targeted therapies to enhance antifungal immunity or block fungal immune evasion.
