Overview

CAP1 pseudogene 2 (CAP1P2) is a human pseudogene related to the protein-coding gene CAP1 (Cyclase Associated Actin Cytoskeleton Regulatory Protein 1). Pseudogenes are inheritable genetic elements that resemble protein-coding genes but carry disabling mutations and typically do not produce functional proteins. CAP1P2 is classified as a pseudogene and is not known to produce a functional product or to have therapeutic target potential. There is no evidence to indicate CAP1P2 has any direct biological function, disease association, or relevance as a drug target. Its primary relevance is limited to its sequence homology with the protein-coding CAP1 gene. CAP1P2 is a nonfunctional genetic element with no established biological role, protein product, or pharmacological relevance. No drugs, biomarkers, or safety concerns are associated with this pseudogene. Its inclusion in therapeutic target lists is incorrect.
