Overview

CAP-Gly domain-containing linker protein 1 (CLIP1), also known as CLIP-170, is a microtubule-associated protein that binds to the plus ends of microtubules and regulates microtubule cytoskeleton dynamics[2][4][7]. It promotes microtubule growth and bundling, and facilitates the attachment of endocytic vesicles and endosomes to microtubules, playing essential roles in intracellular vesicle trafficking and macropinocytosis[1][3][5][6]. CLIP1 is highly expressed in Reed-Sternberg cells of Hodgkin disease and has been implicated in neuronal regulation and neurodevelopmental disorders[1][3][6]. It interacts with several proteins, including IQGAP1, mTOR, and PAFAH1B1, mediating various cell signaling and transport processes[2]. No direct drug interactions or targeted therapeutics are currently reported for CLIP1.
