CAP-Gly domain-containing linker protein 2 (CLIP2) is a cytoplasmic linker protein, highly expressed in brain tissue, where it mediates microtubule interactions and helps maintain neuronal cell structure. It associates with microtubules and dendritic lamellar bodies, facilitating intracellular transport and neuronal architecture. CLIP2 is hemizygously deleted in Williams-Beuren syndrome, contributing to neurological and developmental symptoms. It is not known to be a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or direct drug target. Mutations or deletion of the CLIP2 gene disrupt normal cytoskeletal regulation, likely underpinning some features of Williams-Beuren syndrome
