Capicua transcriptional repressor pseudogene 11 (CICP11) is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome. Pseudogenes like CICP11 are nonfunctional DNA segments that resemble known genes but typically do not encode functional proteins. While the parent gene, Capicua transcriptional repressor (CIC), encodes a high-mobility group box transcriptional repressor with roles in neurodevelopment and cancer biology, the CICP11 pseudogene itself is not transcribed into a functional protein and has no established biological or clinical significance[5][7]. There are numerous CIC pseudogenes in the genome, and current data do not support CICP11 functioning as a drug target or biomarker.
