CAPZB pseudogene 1 (abbreviated as CAPZBP1) is a noncoding pseudogene related to the CAPZB gene. It does not encode a functional protein, is not involved in cellular mechanisms, and is not a therapeutic target. The protein-coding CAPZB gene (distinct from CAPZBP1) encodes the beta subunit of the actin capping protein, which regulates actin filament dynamics, cell morphology, and cytoskeletal organization, but CAPZBP1 itself does not share these functions.
