Overview

Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule pseudogene 7 (CEACAMP7) is categorized as a pseudogene within the CEA gene family cluster on human chromosome 19[2][6]. Unlike protein-coding CEACAM members (such as CEACAM1, CEACAM5, CEACAM6, etc.) that participate in cell adhesion, immune modulation, and serve as cancer biomarkers[1][3][7], CEACAMP7 is not known to encode a functional protein and has no established biological, pathophysiological, or clinical significance. It is considered a genetic sequence related to the CEA family, but its function is essentially null, and it is not regarded as a therapeutic target[2][6][8].
