Carica papaya leaf extract (CPLE) is a complex botanical mixture used primarily for the treatment of thrombocytopenia associated with Dengue fever. It does not have a single established molecular target; instead, its therapeutic effects are attributed to a synergy of phytochemicals including carpaine, papain, quercetin, and various phenolic compounds. Additionally, its constituent flavonoids and alkaloids are believed to stabilize red blood cell membranes against hemolysis and provide antioxidant protection to hematopoietic cells.
