Target intelligence / Profile preview
Cartilage matrix biosynthesis refers to the cellular and molecular processes by which chondrocytes produce and assemble the extracellular matrix (ECM) that gives cartilage its unique structural and functional properties. The ECM of cartilage is primarily composed of collagen (mainly type II collagen), proteoglycans such as aggrecan, hyaluronan, and various non-collagenous proteins.
