These pathways regulate the expression of extracellular matrix components, including type II collagen, aggrecan, hyaluronan, and chondroitin sulfate[3][4][5]. Disruption or dysregulation of these pathways is implicated in cartilage degeneration seen in disorders such as osteoarthritis[1].
