Target intelligence / Profile preview
Casein kinase II alpha subunit (CK2A1) is the catalytic alpha subunit of casein kinase II, a serine/threonine protein kinase. It plays a central role in regulating numerous cellular processes, including cell cycle progression, apoptosis, and transcriptional regulation. CK2 is constitutively active and its deregulation has been linked to tumorigenesis.
CX-4945 blocks enzymatic activity of CK2A1 and affects calcium signaling between ER and mitochondria.
