CB02 tumor-associated antigen (CB02)

Target
CB02
Molecular classification
Tumor-associated antigen (TAA), Surface protein
01

Overview

CB02 is a novel, highly tumor-specific antigen identified through the ATLAS platform, a single-cell analysis technology developed by Cartography Biosciences. It is expressed across a variety of hematological and solid tumor indications while maintaining minimal expression in critical healthy tissues, providing a favorable therapeutic window for targeted interventions (Mathieu et al., AACR 2026). As a target for immunotherapy, CB02 is currently being utilized in the development of bispecific T-cell engagers (TCEs), such as CB02 TCE, which simultaneously bind to the CB02 antigen on malignant cells and the CD3 receptor on T cells. This interaction facilitates the recruitment and activation of T cells, leading to potent, dose-dependent cytotoxicity against tumor cells (Cartography Biosciences Pipeline, 2026). Preclinical studies have demonstrated robust in vivo efficacy and favorable pharmacokinetic properties for CB02-targeted therapies. While the specific protein identity of CB02 remains undisclosed by the developer as of early 2026, its validation as a promising target for next-generation cancer immunotherapy has been established through extensive tissue profiling and functional assays.
