Target intelligence / Profile preview
CBX3 pseudogene 7 (CBX3P7) is a processed pseudogene related to the CBX3 gene, which encodes chromobox protein homolog 3 (HP1γ). While the functional CBX3 protein is involved in heterochromatin formation, epigenetic silencing, and DNA repair, the CBX3P7 pseudogene does not encode a functional protein and is not directly involved in biological processes, disease mechanisms, or considered a pharmacological target. The CBX3 gene and its protein product play important roles in chromatin regulation, but these functions do not extend to its pseudogenes[2][3][4].
