Overview
CC chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7), also known as CD197, is a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that plays a central role in the immune system by directing the migration and positioning of various immune cells within lymphoid organs such as lymph nodes, thymus, and spleen. It guides immune cell trafficking, including lymphocyte homing, dendritic cell migration, and thymic development. Aberrant expression or function of CCR7 contributes significantly to disease processes such as tumor metastasis, chronic inflammatory diseases, and leukemia/CNS infiltration.
