Target intelligence / Profile preview
CCAAT-enhancer-binding protein beta (C/EBPβ) is a transcription factor that regulates gene expression in various biological processes, including immune response, inflammation, and cellular differentiation. It belongs to the C/EBP family and contains a bZIP domain for dimerization and DNA binding. Alternative splicing generates different isoforms, LAP and LIP, with distinct functions. Altered C/EBPβ expression or function has been linked to several diseases, including cancer and immune disorders.
