CCDC13 antisense RNA 2 (CCDC13-AS2) is a human long non-coding RNA affiliated with the lncRNA class and categorized as an antisense transcript, meaning it is transcribed in the opposite direction relative to its sense (protein-coding) gene partner. Like other antisense lncRNAs, CCDC13-AS2 may be involved in the regulation of gene expression at the level of chromatin remodeling, transcriptional interference, alternative splicing, and post-transcriptional interactions. Antisense lncRNAs have been shown to play important roles in epigenetic regulation, imprinting, and in some cases, in cancer biology; however, there is no direct evidence that CCDC13-AS2 itself is a validated disease biomarker or therapeutic target. Its gene is located at human chromosome locus as annotated by the NCBI Gene database (Gene ID: 729083) and in Ensembl (ENSG00000225611). There is currently no established direct link to drug targeting, biomarker status, or safety concern specifically regarding CCDC13-AS2.
