CCDC86 Antisense RNA 1 is a long non-coding antisense RNA gene transcribed from the opposite strand of the *CCDC86* locus. As an antisense lncRNA, CCDC86-AS1 is involved in epigenetic regulation of gene expression, potentially through mechanisms such as recruitment of chromatin modifiers or altering mRNA stability of sense genes. CCDC86-AS1 has been described as exerting oncogenic functions in ovarian cancer; however, mechanistic details remain sparse.
