CCL3 antisense RNA 1 (CCL3-AS1) is a long non-coding antisense RNA gene located on chromosome 17q12, adjacent to the CCL3 chemokine gene. It features several splice variants and its patterns of expression and function remain to be clarified in the scientific literature. Unlike the protein-coding CCL3, which plays a role in inflammation and immune recruitment, CCL3-AS1 does not encode a protein and is not currently recognized as a therapeutic target.
