Overview

CCNT2 antisense RNA 1 (CCNT2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene found in humans. It is transcribed antisense to the CCNT2 gene and is classified within the lncRNA family. While CCNT2-AS1 does not encode a protein, it has been implicated in the regulation of cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, especially in glioma and breast cancer. Higher expression levels of CCNT2-AS1 are associated with malignancy progression and poor prognosis in certain cancers, suggesting its potential utility as a prognostic biomarker and as a candidate for future therapeutic targeting, though it is not currently a direct drug target.
