Overview

CCR4-NOT transcription complex subunit 10 (CNOT10) is a protein component of the evolutionarily conserved CCR4-NOT complex, one of the major cellular mRNA deadenylases essential for constitutive mRNA turnover and regulated mRNA decay pathways[3][5]. CNOT10 is a tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) protein involved primarily in the assembly and structural organization of the N-terminal module of the CCR4-NOT complex, together with CNOT1 and CNOT11[2][3][4]. This module serves as a platform for protein-protein interactions but does not act as a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter[3][4]. CNOT10 participates in processes including negative regulation of translation and gene expression, but has no known direct roles as a drug target or biomarker[5]. Its depletion or mutation affects the stability of the CCR4-NOT complex and influences specific transcript levels, with limited disease associations reported, notably Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser Syndrome Type 1[5].
