CD15 Antigen (CD15)

Target
CD15
Molecular classification
Carbohydrate epitope, Glycolipid, Glycoprotein
01

Overview

CD15 antigen, also known as Lewis x (Le^x), X-hapten, or stage-specific embryonic antigen-1 (SSEA-1), is a carbohydrate epitope with the structure 3-fucosyl-N-acetyllactosamine. This trisaccharide determinant is present on various glycolipids and glycoproteins at the cell membrane. It plays roles in immune functions like phagocytosis, chemotaxis, and leukocyte trafficking. Clinically, it is primarily used as a diagnostic marker for Hodgkin lymphoma.
