CD164 sialomucin-like 2 protein (CD164L2) is a type I transmembrane receptor belonging to the CD164-related protein family, predicted to function at the membrane and in cytoplasmic vesicles[1][7][10]. It is annotated as a host cell receptor for respiratory pathogens[4], but its physiological and pathological roles remain poorly defined. The gene is expressed in humans, with a 174-amino acid protein product. While mutations in CD164L2 have been associated with certain forms of autosomal recessive deafness, there are no well-established links to major therapeutic areas, and no drugs are known to target this protein directly[1][4][7][10]. Information on function, interacting drugs, disease mechanisms, and use as a biomarker remains limited.
