CD300a molecule (CD300A)

Target
CD300A
Molecular classification
Receptor, Type I transmembrane protein, CD300 family
01

Overview

CD300A is a type I transmembrane protein and a member of the CD300 family of cell surface receptors, known for regulating immune cell functions. It acts as an inhibitory receptor through its ITIM motifs, dampening immune responses upon ligand binding (Phosphatidylserine, Phosphatidylethanolamine). It's implicated in autoimmunity, allergies/inflammatory diseases, cancer, and viral infections, making it a potential therapeutic target.

02

Mechanism of action

CD300A engagement inhibits activation signals from various activating receptors, leading to reduced calcium mobilization and cytokine production. It also downregulates uptake/phagocytosis of apoptotic/dead cells by macrophages.
