Target intelligence / Profile preview

CD320 molecule (CD320)

Target
CD320
Molecular classification
Receptor, Membrane protein
01

Overview

CD320 molecule (CD320) is a membrane-associated receptor also known as the transcobalamin receptor or TCblR, which mediates the uptake of vitamin B12 into cells by binding transcobalamin saturated with cobalamin (vitamin B12)[5]. It is expressed in a range of human tissues and plays a central physiological role in vitamin B12 homeostasis[4][5]. Dysfunction or altered expression has been implicated in neurological disorders, with the soluble receptor form in cerebrospinal fluid showing association with dementia-related conditions[3][5].
