Target intelligence / Profile preview

CD33 molecule (CD33)

Target
CD33
Molecular classification
Immunoglobulin superfamily, SIGLECs, Other immune checkpoint proteins, Receptor
01

Overview

CD33, also known as Siglec-3, is a transmembrane receptor predominantly expressed on cells of the myeloid lineage. It functions as an inhibitory receptor, modulating immune responses by dampening tyrosine kinase-driven signaling pathways. CD33 is an important marker for AML diagnosis and serves as a therapeutic target. Genetic variants are also associated with Alzheimer's disease risk.
