CD4-positive T cell receptor (CD4+ TCR)

CD4-positive T cell receptors (TCRs) are antigen-specific receptors expressed on the surface of CD4+ T cells, a subset of lymphocytes critical for adaptive immunity. They recognize peptide antigens presented by MHC-II molecules on antigen-presenting cells. The TCR complex, along with the CD4 co-receptor, initiates signaling cascades that lead to T cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation, orchestrating immune responses against pathogens and contributing to immune regulation. Dysregulation of CD4+ TCR function is implicated in various diseases, including infections (e.g., HIV), autoimmunity, and cancer.
