CD40 Costimulatory Receptor (CD40)

Target
CD40
Molecular classification
Type I transmembrane glycoprotein, Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor Superfamily
01

Overview

CD40 is a costimulatory receptor that plays a central role in immune regulation and homeostasis. It is a 48-kDa type I transmembrane protein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) superfamily. The engagement between CD40 and its ligand (CD154/CD40L) triggers bidirectional signaling critical for both humoral and cellular immunity. Targeting the CD40–CD154 axis has therapeutic potential for cancer immunotherapy or modulation of autoimmune conditions.
