CD95 Receptor (CD95)

Target
CD95
Molecular classification
Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, Type I transmembrane glycoprotein, Death receptor
01

Overview

The CD95 receptor, also known as Fas, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the TNF receptor superfamily. It plays a critical role in programmed cell death (apoptosis) and other cellular functions. Upon ligand binding, CD95 activates apoptotic signaling pathways, leading to caspase activation and cell death. It is involved in immune system regulation, tissue homeostasis, and responses to cellular stress. Dysregulation of CD95 signaling is implicated in autoimmune disorders and cancer.
