Overview

CDC28 protein kinase regulatory subunit 1B pseudogene 2 (CKS1BP2, also known as bA192N10.2) is classified as a pseudogene in the human genome[1][10]. Pseudogenes are sequences similar to known genes but are generally non-functional due to the accumulation of mutations preventing their transcription or translation into proteins[5]. CKS1BP2 shares sequence similarity with the gene CDC28 protein kinase regulatory subunit 1B (CKS1B), which encodes a regulatory subunit for cyclin-dependent kinases and is involved in cell cycle regulation[6][14]. However, there is no evidence that CKS1BP2 produces a functional protein or serves as a direct therapeutic, diagnostic, or biomarker target. There are no known drug interactions, disease roles, or safety concerns specific to CKS1BP2. It is not currently considered a therapeutic target or functionally characterized gene in human biology or pathology[10][5].\n\nSummary of status: \nCKS1BP2 is a pseudogene, not a protein-coding gene or therapeutic target. Information and functions describing CKS1B or related proteins should not be attributed to CKS1BP2. Therefore, it is generally not appropriate to consider CKS1BP2 as a target for drug discovery or biomarker analysis.
