CDC28 protein kinase regulatory subunit 1B pseudogene 3 (CKS1BP3) is a human pseudogene located in the genome, related to the parental gene CKS1B (CDC28 protein kinase regulatory subunit 1B)[3]. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but are nonfunctional; they typically do not encode a protein due to mutations or lack of regulatory elements, though some are transcribed into RNA. Recent research has shown that some pseudogenes may have functions as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs), regulating the expression of their parental genes via miRNA binding, but there is no current evidence CKS1BP3 itself has such a regulatory function or clinical implication. CKS1BP3 is not considered a therapeutic target, nor is it known to be involved in drug interactions or disease processes directly[1][3].
