Overview

CDH4 antisense RNA 2 (CDH4-AS2) is presumed to be a long non-coding RNA located at or near the CDH4 (Cadherin-4) gene locus. While lncRNAs in this region, such as linc-cdh4-2, have been implicated in suppression of migration and invasion in cancer cell models (notably HCC), the specific functional identity and role of CDH4-AS2 remain poorly characterized in the literature and biological databases. There is some evidence that overexpression of antisense lncRNAs at CDH4 may upregulate R-cadherin (CDH4), decrease RAC1 expression, and inhibit cell migration—suggesting a tumor suppressor function[4].
