Overview

CDRT15 pseudogene 2 is a non-coding pseudogene located in the human genome, also referred to as CDRT15L1. As with other annotated pseudogenes, CDRT15P2 does not produce a functional protein. Its genomic context and sequence suggest it arose by duplication or partial retrotransposition of the CDRT15 gene, but it is not known to encode a protein or play any active role as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or therapeutic target[1][3]. There is no evidence that CDRT15 pseudogene 2 participates in cellular or physiological processes directly, nor has it been associated with specific human diseases or used in clinical drug targeting. Some pseudogenes may engage in regulatory functions such as competing for microRNAs or interacting with RNA-binding proteins, but there is no data to suggest CDRT15P2 specifically plays such a role[2].
