Target intelligence / Profile preview
CEA cell adhesion molecule 19 (CEACAM19) is a protein coded by the CEACAM19 gene that belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is predicted to be a membrane protein. It is expressed in a variety of human tissues, with highest levels observed in prostate, uterus, fetal brain, mammary gland, adrenal gland, skeletal muscle, small intestine, and kidney. CEACAM19 is implicated in diseases such as breast cancer, penile cancer, and alveoli adenoma, and its mRNA expression has been shown to be a potentially useful biomarker in breast cancer. The full range of its biological functions and molecular interactions remains under study[1][3][5][7].
