Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 8 (CEACAM8/CD66b) is an immunoglobulin superfamily glycoprotein expressed mainly on human granulocytes where it regulates cellular adhesion, migration, pathogen binding, inflammation modulation, immune response regulation—and acts as an important biomarker for granulocyte activity under physiological or pathological conditions including infection and cancer progression.
