CELF6 antisense RNA 1 (CELF6-AS1)

CELF6 antisense RNA 1 (CELF6-AS1; LOC105370887) is a long noncoding antisense RNA gene located near the CELF6 gene in the human genome[6]. As an antisense lncRNA, its transcript is predicted to be complementary to the mRNA of CELF6, a protein-coding gene involved in RNA splicing and implicated in neuropsychiatric processes[3][4]. Antisense lncRNAs such as CELF6-AS1 typically regulate gene expression through mechanisms including transcriptional interference, chromatin modification, and mRNA stability or translation, either in cis (on the same chromosome near their sense gene) or in trans (at distant genomic sites)[2].
