Cell division control protein 42 homolog (Cdc42) is a small GTPase of the Rho subfamily. It cycles between an active GTP-bound state and an inactive GDP-bound state, regulating multiple essential cellular processes including cell cycle progression, gene transcription, cytoskeletal dynamics, cell polarity, and neuronal development. Dysregulation or mutation can contribute to tumorigenesis as well as developmental disorders involving cytoskeletal abnormalities.
