Overview

Cell division cycle 27 pseudogene 1 (CDC27P1) is a processed pseudogene in the human genome related to the protein-coding gene CDC27. While CDC27 is a core component of the Anaphase-Promoting Complex/Cyclosome (APC/C), regulating cell cycle transitions and implicated in cancer biology[1], pseudogenes such as CDC27P1 do not encode functional proteins and are not direct molecular targets. Eleven CDC27-related pseudogenes have been identified on various chromosomes; they are DNA segments derived from the CDC27 gene but are typically non-functional due to loss of coding potential[1]. CDC27P1 has neither known drug interactions nor biological functions and is not considered a therapeutic target.
