Overview

Cell division cycle 37 pseudogene 2 (CDC37P2) is a processed pseudogene present in the human genome[7][8]. Unlike its parent gene CDC37, which acts as a co-chaperone involved in signal transduction and protein kinase activity, CDC37P2 does not encode a functional protein and is not involved in any known cellular pathways or disease mechanisms. As a pseudogene, it lacks the biological and therapeutic significance characteristic of canonical protein targets. Clarification: This pseudogene should not be confused with CDC37 (Cell division cycle 37, HSP90 cochaperone), which is an important co-chaperone in signal transduction, protein folding, and kinase stabilization and is being investigated as a therapeutic target in oncology and other fields[1][2][3][5]. CDC37P2, by contrast, does not have such roles.
