Cell Division Cycle Associated Protein 1 (CDCA1)

Target
CDCA1
Molecular classification
Protein, Kinetochore protein, Cancer-testis antigen
01

Overview

Cell Division Cycle Associated Protein 1 (CDCA1), also known as NUF2, is a component of the NDC80 complex essential for kinetochore-microtubule attachment and chromosome segregation during mitosis. It is overexpressed in various cancers, including colorectal cancer, lung cancer, oral cavity carcinoma, and melanoma, with limited expression in normal tissues, classifying it as a cancer-testis antigen. Elevated CDCA1 levels are associated with poor prognosis and increased tumor growth/survival. It is a potential therapeutic target for molecular-targeted therapies or peptide vaccine immunotherapy.
