Because this classification encompasses thousands of distinct proteins with varied biological roles, it is considered too broad for specific pharmacological characterization or drug-target profiling. Effective drug development requires identifying a specific member within this category to ensure therapeutic precision and minimize safety concerns associated with broad-spectrum modulation (UniProt, 2024).
