CEP152 antisense RNA 1 (CEP152-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene transcribed from the genomic locus antisense to the coding gene CEP152, which encodes a centrosomal protein involved in centriole duplication. The biological function, mechanistic roles, and disease relevance of CEP152-AS1 have not been well-characterized in the scientific literature. Unlike the protein-coding CEP152 gene, for which there are established roles in cell division and disease, notably primary microcephaly, there are currently no clinical, therapeutic, or biomarker applications attributed to the antisense CEP152-AS1 transcript. No interacting drugs, disease roles, or established biological functions have been reported for this lncRNA. It does not fall into established classes such as receptor, enzyme, transporter, ion channel, or transcription factor, and is not considered a validated therapeutic target.
