Overview

Cervical carcinoma high-expressed long non-coding RNA 1 (CCHE1, also known as CCEPR, lncRNA-CCHE1, cervical carcinoma expressed PCNA regulatory lncRNA) is a long non-coding RNA found to be highly upregulated in several cancers, most notably cervical cancer[1][2]. CCHE1 is implicated in promoting tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, partly through upregulation of PCNA (in cervical cancer) and ROCK1 (in pancreatic adenocarcinoma)[1][2]. In cervical cancer, high levels of CCHE1 correlate with tumor progression, advanced disease stage, and poorer survival[1]. Similar oncogenic functions are observed in papillary thyroid carcinoma, liver cancer, and pancreatic cancer[2][3]. Importantly, CCHE1 is considered both a **potential prognostic biomarker** and a **therapeutic target** in tumors where it is aberrantly expressed, although no targeted drugs are currently approved[1][2][3][4].
