Molecular characterization of cervical tissue, particularly in cancer, reveals profound heterogeneity with subtypes distinguished by gene expression (keratin-high, keratin-low, adenocarcinoma-rich), specific somatic mutations, and viral integration events that contribute to oncogenesis and may serve as biomarkers or therapeutic targets. However, in the context of molecular target annotation, 'cervical tissue' is imprecise and should be replaced with specific molecular entities or cellular components to enable structured clinical or pharmacological analysis.
