Target intelligence / Profile preview
Cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) is a quaternary ammonium compound used as an antiseptic and disinfectant. It acts as a cationic surfactant disrupting microbial cell membranes, leading to cell death. It is commonly found in oral care products for plaque control and gingivitis treatment, as well as in other products as an antibacterial and antistatic agent.
Disrupts microbial cell membranes, leading to leakage of cytoplasmic contents and cell death.
