It is related in sequence to the protein-coding gene CCT4, which is a bona fide subunit of the eukaryotic chaperonin-containing TCP1 (CCT/TRiC) complex, but CCT4P2 itself has no known protein product, no reported biological functions, no established involvement in disease, and is not a therapeutic target or receptor[1][2][5][7].
