Charcot-Leyden crystal galectin pseudogene (ENSG00000278813) is a nonfunctional genomic DNA sequence with sequence similarity to the gene encoding Charcot-Leyden crystal protein (Galectin-10), a hallmark protein found in eosinophil granules and involved in inflammatory responses. As a pseudogene, ENSG00000278813 does not code for a functional protein and is generally considered "junk" DNA, though rare pseudogenes may sometimes have regulatory roles. There is no current evidence that this particular pseudogene is functional in health or disease, nor is it considered a therapeutic or diagnostic target.
