CHMP4BP1 is a non-coding pseudogene related to the CHMP4B gene, which encodes a component of the ESCRT-III complex, important in endosomal sorting and multivesicular body formation. Recent research indicates some pseudogenes could participate in regulatory networks, affecting gene expression or disease susceptibility, often through RNA-mediated effects.
