CHD2 adjacent suppressive regulatory RNA

Molecular classification
Long noncoding RNA
01

Overview

CHASERR is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) located adjacent to the CHD2 gene on chromosome 15. It functions as a cis-acting transcriptional repressor of CHD2, regulating its expression and maintaining proper chromatin remodeling activity. Deletions or haploinsufficiency of CHASERR are associated with a distinct syndromic neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by severe developmental delay, early-onset encephalopathy, facial dysmorphisms, and cerebral hypomyelination/cortical atrophy.
