Target intelligence / Profile preview
CHD9 neighbor protein (CHD9NB) is a putative human protein coded by the CHD9NB gene, with aliases that include "PR-lncRNA-1" and "p53-regulated lncRNA 1". It is referenced in some databases as a protein-coding gene, but there is no robust biochemical or functional characterization available in current major protein or gene knowledgebases. The gene is distinct from CHD9 (Chromodomain Helicase DNA Binding Protein 9), which is a well-studied chromatin remodeling factor. While PR-lncRNA-1 and "p53-regulated lncRNA 1" suggest possible functionality as a noncoding RNA regulated by p53, there is insufficient evidence in standard sources to define biological role, disease involvement, druggability, or use as a biomarker. It does not meet criteria as a therapeutic target, and many entries may be based on predicted or yet-to-be-validated annotations rather than direct experimental evidence. - Note: There appears to be confusion between CHD9NB, a little-known gene with no well-defined function or disease linkage, and CHD9, a bona fide chromatin remodeler with well-established roles in transcription and chromatin regulation. The submitted list of aliases mixes synonyms from both CHD9NB and CHD9, and "PR-lncRNA-1" may be an annotation error or uncertain classification in current databases.
