Target intelligence / Profile preview

Chemokine C-X-C motif ligand 9 (MIG)

Target
MIG
Molecular classification
Chemokine, CXC chemokine
01

Overview

CXCL9, also known as monokine induced by gamma interferon (MIG), is a small cytokine belonging to the CXC chemokine family. It is primarily induced by interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and plays a key role in immune cell recruitment and activation, especially during inflammatory responses. Its interaction with CXCR3 regulates migration, differentiation, and activation of immune cells. CXCL9 can have both pro- and anti-tumor effects depending on the cancer context.
